GST/HST HOLIDAY RELIEF
The Government of Canada has announced a proposed measure to provide GST/HST relief on certain items from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025.
Many of the items sold by Baskits are included in the items which are exempt from GST/HST during the noted period. These include certain food and drink items and certain children’s items such as clothing and toys.
In guidance with respect to the GST/HST holiday, the Government notes that a gift basket is exempt from GST/HST if it “contains food and other items, if 90% or more of the total value of the basket corresponds to items that would have no GST/HST charged on them if they were supplied separately".
This guidance is located at the following Government website: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/child-and-family-benefits/gst-hst-holiday-tax-break.html
Baskits has analyzed our compliment of product offerings and, during the GST/HST holiday period from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025, we will not be charging GST/HST on all applicable gift baskets, gift boxes and individual products.
Please note that the cost of shipping does not receive GST/HST relief under the GST/HST holiday. This means that Baskits will continue to charge GST/HST on all shipping costs as per usual, regardless of the product, gift basket or gift box being shipped.
If you have any questions with respect to this matter, please don’t hesitate to contact our sales team at help@baskits.com or 1-800-561-9177.
Wishing you all the very best this holiday season from the Baskits team!

What payment options do you offer for corporate customers?
For large, recurring corporate clients, we offer payment terms. We ask that new corporate clients seeking to establish credit with us conduct their first few transactions via prepayment. To set up an account and request credit terms, please fill out our Credit Application Form and email to AccountsReceivable@baskits.com
How can I change currency?
You can change your preferred currency at any point while browsing our website. On the top of the page on the left side, you should see a black bar with your currency. Click on the arrow beside it to switch between Canadian and US dollars. Please note you can pay in either currency and ship to either country (Canada or US). Please note, once you have selected a currency at the checkout, you cannot change the currency.
Am I able to customize a ready-made Gift Basket and/or Gift Box and is there a cost to do so?
We would be pleased to customize any one of our ready to ship gift baskets to your specific selections for an additional charge of $15 per baskit. Alternatively, you can also design and customize your own gift with our Design A Gift service. For customization orders of 10 or more, email us at help@baskits.ca and we will be happy to assist you. Please note we are unfortunately unable to offer customization during November and December unless more than 25 units are ordered.
Can I add something to my gift that you don’t have on your website – item, giftcard, personal item to send?
We would be pleased to add a gift card or personal item from outside of our collection to your gift baskit for an additional charge of $15 per baskit. This cost covers all labour and materials required for unwrapping the chosen gift, removing or adding new items and re-wrapping with new cellophane and ribbons. Please feel free to notify us in advance with your order number, mail the item to us or drop it off at our Head Office at 74 Railside Rd. Toronto and we will add it to the gift for you! Any alterations outside of the gift baskit are made at no additional charge. (e.g. attaching a card).
Is the receipt or price sent with the gift?
Since 99% of the baskits we send are being sent as "gifts" we make sure not to include prices or a receipt anywhere on or with the gift! The only place the cost is shown is on the receipt or invoice that is sent to you directly to the email address you provided when placing the order.
