FIFA World Cup 2026 Toronto: Baskits Delivery Disruptions, Closures & What to Expect

2026 Jun 10th

Toronto is preparing to welcome the world this summer as it hosts FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches and the FIFA Fan Festival™ from June 11 to July 19, 2026. With thousands of visitors expected throughout the city and several matches taking place at BMO Field, excitement is building across the GTA.

As part of the City's FIFA World Cup Mobility Plan, temporary traffic and transportation changes will be in effect during the outlined date above. While these measures are designed to keep Toronto moving during one of the biggest sporting events in the world, they may impact delivery timelines in certain neighborhoods across the city.

At Baskits, we want to help you plan your gifting to avoid any delivery delays during this exciting but busy time in the city.

What are the FIFA World Cup 2026 key dates, expected road closure areas, and times?

From June 11 to July 19, 2026, Toronto will experience increased activity and temporary mobility adjustments, especially around Exhibition Place, Liberty Village, Fort York, The Waterfront, Downtown Toronto, BMO Field, and surrounding areas.

This will impact Baskits deliveries to the following postal code areas:

M5T, M6K, M5K, M5L, M5V, and M7A. The map below shows the areas to be closed, along with the times and dates of the closures.

These neighborhoods will see the highest levels of traffic management, pedestrian activity, and access adjustments during the tournament.

What Is the City of Toronto Mobility Planning During the Tournament?

To manage the expected increase in visitors, the City of Toronto Mobility Plan includes temporary measures such as:

  • Increased traffic control in downtown and event areas
  • Temporary road and lane restrictions near venues
  • Reduced or limited parking in key zones
  • Higher pedestrian volumes around stadiums and fan zones

These measures may vary by match day and event timing.

How will these closures affect Baskits Deliveries in Toronto?

Traffic conditions during the tournament may impact delivery windows in certain locations (postal codes and map above).

Our priority remains to deliver the same exceptional Baskits experience our customers expect, which means carefully planning routes and allowing extra flexibility when needed.

During this period, customers may experience:

  • Longer delivery times in downtown Toronto and surrounding event areas especially near major venues and fan zones
  • Adjusted delivery routes based on road access
  • High demand for delivery services across the city

Deliveries within affected areas will occur during off-peak hours and be completed before 11:00 a.m. whenever possible.

We will continue to operate throughout the tournament while working carefully around city restrictions and traffic conditions.

Are same-day deliveries still available during this time?

While we will try our best to deliver gifts the same day, Same-day deliveries may not be available in certain impacted zones during the FIFA World Cup period. For deliveries within affected areas, we will prioritize deliveries during off-peak hours and aim to complete deliveries before 11:00 a.m. whenever possible. Orders placed for same-day delivery may be scheduled for the next available delivery day.

If your delivery address is in an area affected by road closures, traffic restrictions, or limited access, please contact our customer service team at help@baskits.com or 1-800-561-3177 for the most up-to-date information about Toronto deliveries.

Should I place my order early?

Yes. We strongly recommend placing orders in advance to help ensure your preferred delivery date, especially for addresses near event locations or downtown Toronto.

Can I still send gifts for birthdays or special occasions during this time?

Absolutely. We recommend scheduling deliveries a day or two before important dates whenever possible to avoid potential delivery delays.

Can I pick up my order instead of having it delivered?

Yes. As always, you can place a pickup order and collect your gifts directly from our store at 74 Railside Road, Toronto. Parking is free, and we are open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
